Delete your blog?

oh, goodness, after all this work, who would want to delete their blog? maybe they should print the whole thing just so they can say they had a blog!
then again, look how many people have read mine! ZIPPO! never fear, i'm going to put it out there for my family soon.

sniff, sniff, tear................

wow, my last official blog.
what worked, what didn't?
what didn't mostly was just the beginning when i got banned from blogger. actually, more funny than anything. otherwise, this has been a lot of fun. i do want to learn to put my photos on along with a pic of myself, so when i comment on someone's blog, my pretty pic comes up.
okay, thanks to you matt for making this possible, and to the friends of the library for providing wonderful prizes.
i'd like to thank the academy, the staff here at the library, and of course, michael jackson. why? you ask. why not?

week 10 parts 1-3

well, let me just start by saying, "totally cool" about the whole libx thing. what a great idea. koodos to virginia tech.
about mashups, the golf one, some people just have way too much time on their hands, unless, like you matt, that is their job.
even though i am looking forward to "23 things" being over, i do think i'm going to miss it. it was nice having something to accomplish every week, other than waiting on patrons and checking in materials. (don't tell anyone i said that!) ha:)
well, there's always the hope that you will come up with more for us to learn, matt.

i'm counting on it....

omg! i have "older posts" now! so exciting!

strawberry fields forever

hey all (or whomever has looked at this, ever!) went to fitch's farm market on rt. 83 in avon this morning to pick strawberries! oh, how delish they are! the kids had a pretty good time. i bit chilly in the fields, but hey, we were eating as we picked. what's for lunch? whatever you can eat! we picked 6 gallons. i'll freeze some and make jam with some, and eat some, and eat some more. they better be there when i get home from work!

coming up: last week

wow, i can hardly believe the last week is coming up. seems like just yesterday...
we had a great weekend of doing a whole lot of nothing. well, except for me and a whole lot of cooking. that's okay. everything was super.
i'm looking forward to the wrap up for library 2.0, but what will we do after that? i plan to keep on blogging. not sure what my blog will be about, but i'm having a great time with it. i plan to at least let my family in on it so we can share tons of info. missing my sister in alabama!

week 9

toured google docs. started a spread sheet for my kids chore chart. i'll let my husband edit it, but i think if i let my kids in on it, they'll be listing every little thing they do to make their list longer than everyone elses!
anyhoo, graduation party this weekend. hope to do some sewing. need to get tim a father's day gift. world market has zapps potato chips, major yummy from new orleans. we used to get them all the time when we lived down there. they even have crawfish flavor! yes!

week 8 parts 1& 2

howdy!
what a wiki-world we live in! we were just talking in the circ office about today's circ meeting. i missed it and asked what had happened. maureen said they didn't get thru everything, but that ann was going to put out an email with everything. i said, "i think we could do that as a forum in our bts." what do you think? would that work? staff could ask questions and get answers that everyone could look at or refer back to.

social networking/meebo

wow, when will it all end? i can't believe what is available out there. this whole facebook/myspace is just crazy if you ask me. i can't tell you how many times mom's from school tell me to check these sites to make sure my childrens' names aren't on there.
all this worries me. you can't take these things back. post it and it's there. can you take something off? will you be sorry for posting something now in your future? employers look at these things now. i truely don't think i will ever start something on one of these, but i guess you never know. i never thought i'd start a blog either. my children are getting a kick out of it though.

now, meebo seems interesting. i like the fact that you can im for instant gratification. i like the idea of being able to im a library for questions, but how much work is this for librarians? will they ever be bombarded and if they are, who does the work?

twitter just sounds silly, a waste of time, and useless all at the same time. do the people who start these things make money on this? isn't that just taking advantage of people?, and if so, when will it stop? why do people even want to do these things? do they have a life? or do they just sit there all day playing on these things. "what am i doing right now?...", no, now. okay, now? (no offense to you, matt. i know you actually get paid to do this/teach us)

skype (sp?) seems interesting. i think this would be great if you have a lot of friends who live far away, or another country, especially since you can use video!

i'm not going to embed a meebo chat widget on my blog right now. just one more password to remember since the ones i like haven't been available. how do you keep track of all those, matt?

swicki's

very interesting idea here. i like the fact that you can look up any city and find out what's going on. i've added the swicki of my hometown, but am going to add one from where my parents live in north carolina and where i grew up, chesterland.

i also tried out a few other sites matt suggested. i like guidespot a lot. i like that i could put in "seafood restaurants" in "taylorsville, north carolina" and a few came up, but the one i was looking for was the first listed and it even had a map! cool! 'your street' was okay, but this is going to be fun looking things up and seeing photos and all!

wow!

holy cow....a few of us got blocked, actually accused of being "spam". honestly, i have been known to be "spam". it was a nickname i had in high school. my friend, dean, used to call me that, and i even had a "spam key" on my keychain for the longest time! weird.
did anyone catch connie schultz's column today in the plain dealer? i can't believe parents would allow their "child" to be waxed at such a young age! maybe if it was facial, okay, but bikini lines? what the heck?
any thoughts?

my first posting: OMG!

wow, my first posting....

well, first i want to learn how people (eventually me) put on photos, recipies, and what not on their blogs, to share with family and friends (and co-workers).

i'm sure i'm going to have oodles of questions for matt (and everyone else who's been helping me) about this and really am excited and can't wait to do more!
