social networking/meebo

wow, when will it all end? i can't believe what is available out there. this whole facebook/myspace is just crazy if you ask me. i can't tell you how many times mom's from school tell me to check these sites to make sure my childrens' names aren't on there.
all this worries me. you can't take these things back. post it and it's there. can you take something off? will you be sorry for posting something now in your future? employers look at these things now. i truely don't think i will ever start something on one of these, but i guess you never know. i never thought i'd start a blog either. my children are getting a kick out of it though.

now, meebo seems interesting. i like the fact that you can im for instant gratification. i like the idea of being able to im a library for questions, but how much work is this for librarians? will they ever be bombarded and if they are, who does the work?

twitter just sounds silly, a waste of time, and useless all at the same time. do the people who start these things make money on this? isn't that just taking advantage of people?, and if so, when will it stop? why do people even want to do these things? do they have a life? or do they just sit there all day playing on these things. "what am i doing right now?...", no, now. okay, now? (no offense to you, matt. i know you actually get paid to do this/teach us)

skype (sp?) seems interesting. i think this would be great if you have a lot of friends who live far away, or another country, especially since you can use video!

i'm not going to embed a meebo chat widget on my blog right now. just one more password to remember since the ones i like haven't been available. how do you keep track of all those, matt?
